Get Involved

You don’t need the latest road bike to take part in triathlon, just a well maintained road bike in good working order, a helmet and some trainers. If you decide to invest in something better in the future then that’s great!

Where & when do we meet?

We meet at various locations according to our training schedule, time of year, and type of activity.

Do we train all year round?

YES!!

TRI247 operates pretty much all year round! There are times we cannot put training on such as Christmas (when facilities we hire are closed) or certain sessions due to the coaches participating in events like National Development Camps or Ironman. The last reason is out of our hands, the weather!! We sometimes have to call off a session but will always try and make alternative arrangements if we can.

How do I sign up?

Interested in giving triathlon a go? Then there’s 3 easy steps to becoming a member:

1. Come along to a free trial session – no worrying about joining and then realising we’re not for you. Just contact us to let us know you’d like to try it out.

2. Once you know we’re right for you, complete the TRI247 membership form online, pay your joining fee and subscription payment there.

3. At this stage we can also order you your FREE  t shirt. We also have a range of other kids triathlon tri suits and kit which can be ordered.

  • Creativity / Variety
  • Communication / Monitoring

The TRI24/7 Individualised Coaching Member receives a personalised online program that is goal oriented and based around their individual needs.

HOW IT WORKS

There is an initial consultation to discuss your background, goals, strengths and limitations and we start to assemble a picture about you as a person and athlete. We will discuss your upcoming season and your goal races as well as other relevant elements which may affect your race calendar.

You fill in a worksheet with all the relevant information we need to start designing your program. Details include training history, testing data (if available), work restrictions, training hours available, sport specific strengths and weaknesses etc.

A TRI24/7 Training Peaks online account is set up for you and a Training Program is designed for you and is published on your own private site, accessible through any Internet connection, iPhone or iPad via the free training peaks app. You have your own username and password to ensure that your information is only accessible to yourself and TRI24/7 coaches and consultants.

After you have reviewed your initial Training Program we will discuss the plan with you to make any alterations as necessary and or explain any detail you are unsure of. We will also discuss your ATP (Annual Training Plan) and decide on a race schedule so you are peaking for your goal races.

Your ATP is devised and published on your TRI24/7 Training Peaks site to compliment your Training Program.

Training zones based upon previous testing data you provide or after specific testing will be set and explained. These zones are stored on your  Training Peaks site and used to guide your training intensity. TRI24/7 coaches will monitor your training intensity using information you provide following sessions.

If you have a power device such as a power tap, Quark, SRM, etc. then we can design your cycling program utlising this information and provide detailed analysis and testing to set your power parametres both in training and racing.

TRI24/7 coaches can use Heart Rate, Power, Time and Pace to monitor and communicate training progress.

Your Training Program is available to view online at all times and you can update and track your progress with sessions completed and all other relevant details.

Detailed Session plans are included in your program to ensure you know exactly what you are doing.

Training Peaks also tracks your progress and any updates you make are communicated to us so we can monitor how you are going and make any comments or adjustments where necessary. Clients may also request detailed consultations were we discuss and analyse additional information on wellbeing, power, pace, time in zones, fitness summary and more.

Communication is key to the athlete / coach relationship, and this requires commitment from the athlete and the coach. Our programs only work if our athletes are able to meet the following requirements:

  • Upload your data from each training sessions.
  • If something is not working for you or you do not understand, please let us know.
  • If you are ill or injured, let us know.
  • If you wan to do another race or begin playing another sport, let us know.
  • If you have stress outside of training let us know.

If anything is troubling you LET US KNOW.

We make individual changes from week to week, so it is important that data is uploaded by the Friday of each week, this is also an opportune time to shoot us an email, with any changes to your circumstances that will impact on training.
